Crittenton Society members invest in the future by investing in Florence Crittenton’s kids. Each member contributes a minimum of $1,000 annually to support programs that empower struggling adolescents to achieve their dreams.

Florence Crittenton offers girls the opportunity to become who they want to be; it’s a place to heal and call home where they know they will always be safe
and feel wanted.”

Crittenton Society

Crittenton Society is the philanthropic backbone of Florence Crittenton and its members are the champions of the future.  Members are individuals, organizations, businesses and civic leaders dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to struggling adolescents and their families.

Crittenton Society members are visionary.  They know that the future of a community is held in the hands of its young people, and they are willing to make a tangible investment to ensure that we are able to continue our mission of giving every girl whose life we touch safety, hope and opportunity.

These are the people we count on. Champions who have witnessed Florence Crittenton’s life-changing work and who have met the girls who came to take refuge and stayed to attain independence and self-respect.  Champions who understand the desperate need to prepare young women to transition into healthy, self-sufficient adults and to give guidance so they are able to break the cycle of despair and are empowered to achieve their dreams.

About Charles Crittenton – A Champion of Hope
In the early 1890’s, Florence Crittenton was born, lived a few short years and tragically died of scarlet fever.  Charles, her grieficken father, in an effort to ease his pain and preserve his daughter’s memory, made a decision that has evolved into an extraordinary mission.

For twenty-five years, Charles Crittenton traveled throughout the United States helping communities set up homes offering care and understanding to girls and young women who needed “relief, protection and reformation.”  He was a true champion of hope. In 1896, with Crittenton’s assistance, Arizona’s Florence Crittenton Home opened near the railroad tracks in Central Phoenix.
